Production : Liquid Ocelot
Here’s a bit of a production preview for the few of you that follow Eight Bit Strange. This is version 1 of the Liquid Ocelot rig. Aside from basic movement tests during the wight painting process I have not had a chance to animate him yet. But I’m looking forward to implementing him into future episodes. Snake better watch out……..
Almost forgot. Episode 3 should be wrapped up in a few days , then off it goes to gametrailers.com . I’m hoping to finish in time for GT to run the feature over the next weekend.
Thanks for all the support,
Greg

Nice work Greg. Can’t wait for the next episode.
Eddie
Thanks Eddie, the next eppy actually comes out tonight 6pm PDT.
In which program did you modeled liquid ocelot?
Are those special materials like toon colors or just simple colors?
Thanks for this awesome saga, I’ll be waiting for the next chapter!
Hi Miguel,
I created Liquid and all the other characters in Maya. I pretty much do the entire production in Maya , the only post processing is some motion blur here and there. The colors are just simple materia colors, most of them Lambert . I’m terrible at texturing so I chose to go this simple route and avoide any problems later on.
Thanks for your support
The next pisode will be a Halloween special so it’s going to be a little different , we’ll see how it goes.
The hole episode looks very good!!
I’m a fan of Metal Gear Saga and i’m very interested on becoming an artist modeler, that’s why I wanted to know how you created the characters. I took a course/graduate on Maya last summer but it takes a lot of practice time to become a good modeler (like you, hehe).
I had problems with the Uv texturing too, but I want to improve my skills.
So…thanks for your tips, they’ll be useful when I practice modeling.
On the other hand, I think I could get MGS sound effects for you (if you want). I did for school a novel project (inspired on MGS) and I have a lot of sound FX extracted from the videogame or from videos. (if you want to listen it, here you have the link: http://tecnozenn.blogspot.com/2009/11/serpiente-emprendedora-3.html it’s in Spanish, but you can listen perfectly the sounds, hehe)
I really want to help to this project so if you need me just contact me.
Thanks again for creating such a good project. Congrats!
